Bench & Wick started at a kitchen table in Penticton with one pot of soy wax and a lot of trial and error. Today we pour every candle in small batches in our studio, with scents inspired by the valley we love: lake days, orchard stands, harvest on the Naramata Bench and snowy nights on the hill.
Soy wax for a slow, clean burn and a strong scent throw.
Phthalates or paraffin. Just soy, cotton and fragrance.
Burn time from a 14 oz jar when you trim the wick.
Three habits for a longer burn
On the first light, burn until the melted wax reaches the edge (2–3 hours). This stops tunnelling.
Trim to 1/4" before every burn for a clean flame and no soot.
Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time, then let it cool fully.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from pets, children and drafts.
